The Artist:
Born 1946, in Glasgow Scotland I formally trained as a Design and Development Engineer. During this period I developed my skills in Design and Draughting and worked in R&D.
Photography became a passion:
“I was ten years old when I printed my first black and white negative in the darkroom and from then on I was captivated, Over the years I continued to explore the world of photography through Portraiture, Weddings and Landscapes. Examples of my Landscape Photography Portfolio can be seen in my Adobe Portfolio”
Artistic Style:
When I retired from Research Engineering I taught basic literacies including art in further education for a number of years before completely retiring to concentrate on my artistic style and began painting seriously in 2015.
I am self taught, but over the years have attended a number of courses under the tutelage of artists like Bellamy and Scott and also attending Strathclyde University Art,.
My passion is the Scottish Landscape with its unique geology and ever changing skies. My inspiration comes from Scotlands mountains. hills, glens, streams, lochs and wonderful coastline. In particular capturing the changing seasons, the weather and the transient light at the end of the day are my challenges..
